Cool So Whats The Difference Between Brian Kelly & Charlie Weis' Offenses?

4-5 WR sets in the shotgun. Looks like the same offense we ran in the 4th quarter after trying to make a comeback while giving up on the running game.

We should score 40 points per game or more this season with that offense. But I am disappointed by not getting a big time Defensive Coordinator because Defense is clearly the biggest problem when it comes to a team that has such a prolific offense.

Pro vs. Spread.

Pro: QB is under center as opposed to the shotgun

Pro: Utilizes numerous 3, 5, and 7 step drops. Spread allows the QB to throw after catching the snap or take two extra steps to have a quick 7 step drop.

Pro: Utilizes single or two backs... much more North/South run game. Spread utilizes zone reads between the QB/RB.

Pro: Utilizes play action in the form of the QB turning his back to the play. Spread always has the QB looking upfield at the D.

No my point is how exactly is what the offense Kelly is using an upgrade from what Charlie Weis had?

According to the NCAA Stats UC's Defense was ranked in the Top 10 in both Sacks and TFLs but there DLine got no pressure on Tebow while the their Secondary had no answer for UF's speed.

I have my druthers about Diaco but note he was in his first year and UC had to rebuild their entire defense this year. They're young and were facing a Heisman QB, the WRs and Linemen they've faced. The other guys were motivated by winning one for the retiring head coach while UC had no head coach and most of their other coaches already had their bags packed for their new jobs.

who cares what the difference is between the two. the difference is Brian Kelly is a proven winning college football coach and weis hasn't proved anything except that he can recruit and never develop those top recruits. do you want to bring weis back now?

We don't know who we have yet. All we have, so far, is a bunch of speculation and rumors. Let Kelly get his staff under contract, THEN let's talk about what we have, or don't have?
