[IrishEnvy Exclusive] Q&A with Richard Jackson

We're back! This time we caught up with incoming Irish WR Richard Jackson. As you remember, Jackson is a very talented wide receiver prospect out of East Ridge High School in Clermont, Florida.

Enough of the small talk, let's see what Jax had to say:
IrishEnvy: What got you involved in football?

Richard Jackson: I wanted to lift weights for basketball, so I went for the team in 9th grade.

IrishEnvy: Is there anyone at your position that you study and mold your game after?

Richard Jackson: I look at all the good wide outs and take bits and pieces from each one.

wrigley1: What factors separated Notre Dame from the in-state programs recruiting you?

Richard Jackson: It boiled down to the fact that I felt comfortable on Notre Dame's campus and the offense better suited me.

IrishEnvy: When you narrowed down the recruiting process, Who were you final two schools (besides Notre Dame) that you chose from? What ultimately made you choose Notre Dame over your second choice?

Richard Jackson: Miami was the other school, but I didnt feel like that was the right place for me.

IrishEnvy: A big deal is made in the media that Notre Dame entrance requirements are too high for elite athletes. Do you believe this? Did you encounter any obstacles in getting accepted at Notre Dame?

Richard Jackson: I got in with no problems, but we're student-athletes in high school too, so they should haved pushed us to excel in the classroom just liked they do in the weightroom and on the field, then the requirements wouldnt be too high.

jiggafini19: What is one thing we should know about Charlie Weis that we probably don't know?

Richard Jackson: He is a real laidback guy.

irishnd31: Let's say that you are playing NCAA Football on Playstation 2 or XBOX. What team/ teams to you play with on a regular basis, and how have you done playing with/against the Irish?

Richard Jackson: If I'm playing against my friends, I us Texas or Ohio State (just for the defense), but I never play against Notre Dame. I always take them off. I have only used them a couple of times, and its been 50/50 with wins and loses.

Indydomer: Do you think you will have an immediate impact this year, and if you could compare yourself to one of the current ND recievers which would it be?

Richard Jackson: I plan on making an impact next year. I would probably compare myself to Stovall.

IrishEnvy: When your Irish football career is over, how do you want to be remembered?

Richard Jackson: I want to be remembered as someone who played hard and gave it his all, and I also wouldn't mind being called one of the best recievers to come out of ND.

Guys, feel free to leave some love for Jax. I'm going to drop him a link to the interview so he can read your responses, comments, and feedback.

I think you will be better than Stovall. From what Ive seen on tape this guy looks like a hard worker and won't fade into oblivion like Stovall did until Weis found him somehow. Richard Jackson is the next stud receiver at ND.
