Darrin, I followed your recruiting closely last year and I was thrilled to see you in the ND cap at your announcement. I can not wait to see you tear up the opposing wideouts and return Notre Dame football to where it should be, amongst the elite programs in the country. Hello Darin,

I saw some of your highlight videos and understand why you were considered a five star cornerback until your injury. Some of your defensive plays were just unbelievable. There aren't many NFL corners with your raw ability. I certainly look forward to your contributions on the field and hope you injoy life at Notre Dame.

Darrin, you and the fellow recruits that are coming in this fall, along with the three that already working with the team, are the start of a major power shift in college football. You said you wanted to be known as the kid from Pittsburgh, who became the best cornerback/kick returner in ND history, and an academic all american........those are excellent goal.....but i think you should add one more thing....i think you will be remembered as a leader in recruiting class that changed the face of college football and restored ND to the forefront of college football for years to come. Most importantly, Notre Dame fans are happy to see that you have your priorities straight. We know you will strive for excellence on and off the field and represent Notre Dame accordingly. It was a pleasure to read your interview and we here at IrishEnvy can't wait to see you in an Irish jersey....

You embody every attribute that Notre Dame and its fans aspire for our young student athletes. We wish you the greatest success in every endeavor; on and off the field.

Darrin Walls: I believe that Notre Dame takes players who fit their criteria. And that is men who loves football, who are smart in the classroom, and is a family man. If you don't fit that, than you're not an ND player.

They go after guys who will succed in the classroom, also on the field. Scholarships aren'tanything to waste, so if a player wants to go ND, it is all on them, not ND. You have to set the bar some where, and ND bars are set HIGH. But me, No I didn't face any obstacles to get accepted to Notre Dame.

That, right there, is a Notre Dame man. Plain and simple. He'll do well, hopefully on the field, but definately off the field.
