| Chicago Rhetoric | USC only returns four starters on offense, but 7 on defense. Grades and injury, plus the losses of Bush and White, have USC without running backs for spring ball. Walk ons and fullbacks will be all they have. The defense should carry them in the beginning, but the offense will be up and running by the time ND comes to town. That is the one game on the schedule I can look at and think "loss" right away. They have a chance to beat everyone else. |

Not to mention they're a bit overdue for a win in South Bend. If we win this game then I'm confident we'll end the regular season undefeated. PSU looks like an easy game right now, South Bend will be a tough environment to break Morelli in. USC will be tough but they lose an awful lot, and I think you'll see how much they miss Chow this year. Petey lost focus on the defensive side of the ball and consumed himselve with the offense and their defense ended up sufferering. Next year should only be worse. They'll have a good record when they play us, maybe they'll even be undefeated, but thats only because they play in such a weak conference. |

Whatever happens next year, I really just hope they win a bowl game. That streak ends this year, I pray... | |

Everyone talks about how USC won't be nearly as good because they lose Reggie Bush and Leinhart but you need to realize that they have been a dominant recruiting program in the last few years so they'll have some people to follow in the footsteps. |
