Jiggs, why don't you shut down this thread. The posts are nothing but a rehash of things said ten times. It is boring and let's talk about something else.

You lost to a miserable michigan state team. Sure you played USC close, but who cares when you nearly get humiliated by the Cardinal. I love the argument about you are more deserving than Oregon because you lost to USC by less than they did... ok, how about our games against Stanford? Washington? good arguments. In reality, ohio state, oregon, and even auburn, if not more teams, are better and more qualified to play in the Fiesta Bowl. In a perfect world, Ohio State and Oregon would be playing each other because those two teams are undoubtedly more qualified than notre dame and the others. Unfortunately, the system is far from perfect and the deserving teams notoriously get snubbed, especially on the west coast. Notre Dame fan may be right in saying they will be playing Ohio State in Tempe. However, I want nothing more than to see Oregon embarass Notre Dame on the big stage just as Oregon State has done twice this decade already.
Svoboda....please don't welcome any of these trolls to our board. They're here to do nothing but flame. Dude, about 50 of your friends beat you to the punch and they all sound as senseless as you do. Feel free to read many of the threads previously posted by your buddies. Everybody please just ignore this clown. How many times do we have to address the same stupidity? One duck comes over here, not bothering to read the other threads, and posts the same thing over and over again. It's ridiculous. Anyway, I would rather play OSU. Auburn is a scary team, because they are playing well right now. They are one of those teams that you don't want to face right now, because they are clicking. They are one of few SEC teams that have a potent offense. OSU is a great team and would be a fun matchup to watch. I want Oregon to get snubbed only because their fans are annoying and resort to putting other teams down to further their cause.

jiggs, please stop responding to these trolls. It's the same thing over and over again everyday. It was old two weeks ago. It wouldn't matter if Notre Dame were 11-0. They would still say because we are not in a conference our schedule is too easy and we don't deserve to play for a NC. Ignore them and let's talk about something else.

You know, I feel like if I can just reach one.....

I think Ohio State is similar to ND in that they have 2 very close losses that were early enough in the year to keep them in the hunt for this BCS deal.

Tressel's conservative play calling killed them against Texas. The Horns took advantage.

I'm not sure that anyone played Penn State as well as Ohio State did up there in Mount Nittany.

Troy Smith is a leader. Put all of the off field stuff aside, he's a leader and a good football player. Notre Dame needs to focus on him and the run.

A winnable game that ND would be favored in, but probably the toughest opponent ND could wind up facing.

You really think ND would be favored against OSU? You know most of the "experts", most notably Mark May, won't give ND any chance to win this game. ND, in my mind, will most assuredly be dogs in this game. It's ok with me, because that gives Charlie more ammunition. They haven't won a bowl game in 11 years, they've lost the last two by an average score of 39.5-15, nobody's picking them to win, etc, etc. Jiggs....Charlie's got alot of ammo. You know he will use anything to make sure that those guys come out focused, hungry, and ready to play.

According to Vegas, ND would be the chalk against Oregon and OSU, dogs against Va Tech, PSU.

After Herbstreit and Fowler, the analysts on ESPN are all one sideded homers. Holtz loves ND, South Carolina and East Carolina. Mark May just hates everyone but SC and Pitt.

I can't take any of them seriously.

Yeah Lou and Mark are a piece of work aren't they? The only guys that bring stability are Fowler, Herbstreit, and even Rece Davis. Other than that, you have to take their opinion with a grain of salt.
