These dudes are about 40 ft up in some I believe Ponderosa Pines slated for removal. Not exactly old growth redwoods.

Yeah. It was always a business, but the shift from maximize the social import to maximize the profit margin saddens me. The days of a "nicklel" or "dime" bag are long gone. The violence, as a result, in the trade pisses me off.

There was also Mexico Gold. The summer after my freshman year ('71) I bought a pack of "cigarettes" from a high school bud whose brother had sent a carton from Nam. The story was that the filters were laced with opium. All I know is that it was some crazy sh¡t. I have a number of classmates (both high school and ND), many I see to this day, who will attest to its potency .

Sad to say, this was the time that weed, LSD, Peyote, Mescaline, Peyote, etc. were in transition from a social to a business enterprise. I miss the old days.

Ummm, no. As I said, I've been out of the "scene" (for the most part) for close to 40 years. An occasional hit now and then, which often induces "nappy time" – the reason I scaled back in the first place – or gets me laughing uncontrollably. At times that gets me in trouble. The sh¡t these days, even the homegrown, is much, much more potent than what I grew up with. [Or should that be "with which I grew up?" This Grammar Hammer thing can be a heavy mantle to shoulder.]

My bad on the derided part,,, I read your last post in the AQM thread as talking about me. All I'm saying is why bring up a hypothetical non academic scenario that topped us from recruiting AQM and compare it with Yuri Wright. ND stopped the recruitment of Yuri Wright after questions about his character arose surrounding is comments on Twitter. Just brought that up because as I remembered it, the tweets had been out there for a while while we were recruiting him hard. Then all of a sudden, almost after everybody (read UM) turned him down, it came to pass for ND. Not about the kind of thing, just the suspension of all physical laws, for an inordinate time during the process. I don't know if that makes sense, but that's what I got. Téigh Gaeilge, buille 'bama!

B) When did I insinuate any recruit had a character issue? (Methinks everyone should lighten up, because I used the key word on the only post I could have made that was misconstrued, 'hypothetical".) C) The name Bogtrotter I picked up because it was a term of derision. You could not even make a dent, (if you were talking about your post.) Lighten up bro' I have very fond memories of SoCal. Mickey Mouse and thermite, 29 stumps to El Toro to Pendleton. It's all good bro!
