I used to be that way, honestly. It's so obvious to me now that I lived in a bubble of hypocrisy and emotion. I could convince myself of anything because I was smart and Republicans and conservatives were dumb, racist, uneducated, selfish, etc. I know now that isn't the case.

I realize now that the main thing conservatives care about it self-reliance and accountability. Once you start looking at their beliefs through that lens it makes way more sense and it isn't that backwards. It's just easier to believe the negative reasons than look for a rational one. It's also a convenient fall back argument when all others fail.

Thanks for the support btw. I wish we could all find more common ground. Sometimes I think I move the needle forward, but I'm sure I move it backwards too.

I know, I know.... It's just so scary to me that people think this way without even realizing it. People are literally brainwashed into not realizing they are spewing hateful rhetoric that perpetuates bigotry and even violence against entire groups of people.

Sadly, I don't think it actually matters. The people who are doing it are either unaware, unable to see fault in their words, and/or don't care.

If your name is Brian Kelly it sure does...hehehe. I do wish ND had another year of DK's ability to push the ball down the field, but BW will get better

Exactly right. It's not even a humanitarian issue anymore, which is sad. It's just a political soccer ball.

Thanks for the reps. I try to put him in his place when it's warranted. I don't think his personal attacks have any benefit on the site, he habitually tiptoes around the lines to keep from getting banned more often. I don't care for the fact he tries to goad opposing posters like you and T-Town too. You guys bring good discussion and have always been pretty respectful. It's good to have viewpoints from the other side of the fence.

Thanks...You and I see things very much the same way 90% of the time. I respect what you have to say 100% of the time.

Thanks for the support. It was a big wake up call to see all this as a dem. It made me disgusted with myself for supporting this shit for so long. Being an independent is liberating (no pun intended).
