I am sorry if it sounded like I was complaining. In fact I was trying to explain to the slow minded twits that post this mind numbing putdown of everything non-ND, that they look like bafoons to educated non-ND posters of which there are plenty.

I continue to have a problem to the "weak boys" who want to gang up and be Internet bullies.

I thought I would take care of this one myself, because your time is short, and I believe to have a better environment, everybody has to speak up.

I think you, old mods, new mods, and Jason are doing a fine job. But how are Neanderthals chauvinists here who think everything has to be just the way ND does it now (how they perceive ND does it) or else it his horrible, going to learn if they don't hear it from a broad spectrum of posters?

Great post; I agree with you 99% of the way.

The only thing I would say to keep in mind is that football is just a distraction for a lot of people. In the scheme of things it is incredibly unimportant. While it is one thing to be vile, rude, or obscene, one should be allowed to be somewhat of a mindless homer concerning all things ND on an ND football board. People should expect too much from people like us!

And while I agree that there are lots of legitimate reasons for a kid to chose other schools (family, majors, etc.), it really is true that "No one does it like ND." The blend of education and academics sets it apart even from other great schools where the proximity to great academics does not necessarily translate to a challenging education on a regular basis. As far as ND being a better "education" than all of these other schools, that is just way too subjective. However I will say that the quality of the core liberal arts curriculum, the school's reputation, and the networking do make the degree more valuable than most BCS schools-- even if the "education" one got is much harder to quantify.

You have the exact healthy distinction that I was after. Elevate our Lady; don't put down our peers! I am not sure, if you look past the randomness and unconventionality that it is just 99%. Because, in my travels, I have spent time with quite a few members of the Notre Dame community, and they have actually been among the best I have seen at practicing the Golden Rule. That relationship was not lost on me.
