I haven't researched enough to find anything balanced so if anyone can get me a link or explain what exactly happened with the financial measures being voted down please post them or pm me... Thanks.

with the initiatives getting voted down (except 1) this means that the mid-year cuts will be deeper than expected. CA school districts should brace for more cuts. Which means more board of education protests, union bickering, etc, etc. There has been protests at the board of education meetings for the last 2 months, its appears it will go on for quite a while longer.

Recently, The Press Enterprise release an article outlining the Riverside Unified School District Superintendent, and Cabinet's salaries. They all make about $169,000 - $195,000. With the Superintendent around $250,000+. The thing that looks REALLY bad, is they voted themselves a 14% pay raise last September.

I'm trying to find a copy of the actual bill or proposal and can't find one. Well anyways I wonder what the opponents want... Califolks feel free to chime in here...

Wow just read an article on the proposals.... What's with the lack of voter turnout?

At any rate could this be sort of an example of how not to deal with a deficit and a lesson to the rest of the nations? As I read more I find the situation more telling than what I thought. I won't jump the gun yet but it seems like folks that already have high taxes don't want them raised yet no one has a better solution... Still doing research. Hopefully I will find a .txt of the proposal soon and I can make an informed analysis for my own knowledge...

A bill was passed today to cut politicians pay by 18% in Cali.
