I went out to play golf this morning... - Notre Dame Football Discussion

My brother-in-law was supposed to go with me, but he got called into work. I'm not about to let lack of a playing partner stop me from golfing, so I headed out to the course anyway.

As I was walking into the pro shop, my Notre Dame bag and head covers proudly adorning my clubs, two older guys came past me in a cart. As they went by, one of them said, "Go Michigan! Maze and Blue!"

To which I wittily replied, "Up yours!"

I went in the pro shop and asked if I could play as a solo, since I had lost my partner. The starter said sure, but two guys had just gone out as a twosome, and it'd be better if I hooked up with them.

Yea, you guessed it: I got play 18 holes with the freakin' Michigan fan.

Turns out, he had attended Michigan 50 years ago. He was actually a pretty decent guy, and I had a fun round... In large part, because I spanked him by 15 strokes. (Of course, he was 71 years old, but hey, a win is a win!)

At least the story had a happy ending... Had he been a USC fan, I would've gladly spent the day in jail for the honor of slapping his goofy, old guy hat off his head when he mouthed off.

my first and only time playing a round of golf happened this summer I go with a fellow teacher friend (who comes on IE every once in a blue moon) who also happens to be a domer... we get paired up with... you guessed it too... a Michigan fan... he and his guy were very nice though... but they were pros and if they had kept score it would have been brutal
