Not so fast.....

WVU officials negotiating with Rodriguez
Vernon Bailey
WVSports.com Publisher

West Virginia University officials continue to work through negotiations with head football coach Rich Rodriguez on Friday morning, according to sources close to the situation.

Rodriguez is currently considering an offer from Alabama after the Crimson Tide fired former coach Mike Shula on November 26. Rodriguez has acknowledged meeting with Alabama athletic director Mal Moore Tuesday night in New York City.

Reports from various news sources have indicated that Rodriguez has accepted an offer from Alabama but at this point, those reports appear to be premature.

The Mountaineers will have a team meeting at 3:00 PM ET today and it is believed that Rodriguez will make his intentions known before that time.

For updates on the situation, please visit WVSports.com's Blue Lot message forum. The WVSports.com staff will be on hand throughout the process to bring you the latest available information.

I guess even the center for the team made a comment about how Rodriguez told him he would be there forever when he recruited him. Not that all coaches don't say that.

WVU fans are the craziest, angriest, most violent fans in college football. He'll be lucky to get out of town alive. It's proper WV etiquette to burn couches for the coach leaving too isn't it?

My wife graduated from WVU and is from WV.... The in-laws came up this weekend, me and her dad are buds. Let me tell you one thing, if RR leaves, he best never come back to WV. They will be fired up. I'm locking down all my couches!!!!!

The main reason they will be pissed off is that the WVU fanbase genuinely thinks they have a great shot at a NC next year. I guess that is slightly warranted consider Mozes is the only guy they lose on offense. Also, there is a distain for RR approach, they much prefer the stoic good ole boy Nehlan style. But a 3 BE titles and sugarbowl win over Ga. has tappered that a bit.
