Attendance woes do little to stifle Hall operators' enthusiasm

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- They built it and people have yet to come as anticipated, but attendance numbers of about 63,000 last year don't do the College Football Hall of Fame justice.

Fans looking for interactive opportunities will find this Hall on par with the kiosk-filled Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. There's film footage on almost all of the 933 Hall of Famers as well as exhibits that enable visitors to kick field goals, throw passes and slam into a blocking dummy.

This story was in my local paper, The Indianapolis Star, yesterday and it was a good read. It really sounds like the HoF is a great facility. Hopefully I will be able to get up to see it sometime soon as everytime I come into South Bend it always is on my list but ends up getting scratched.

I am on campus right now with my kids at sports camp. I never have visited not do I have plans to visit the CFHOF unless we get really crappy weather tomorrow. Not going there when I come to the football games in the summer. Just have no interest.

As a little side note the weather was bad today so they moved my girls from the soccer fields to Meyo field, the indoor fielhouse. I was standing on the track (stupid me, I'm a trackster and you'd think that I would know better) and these 6 or so guys started running in the 30 yard stretch that I was standing in so I moved. Didn't think much of it because I was watching my girls on the field then I looked a little closer, 5 ft in front of me was Brady Quinn. A lot of other players were there too working out while I was there. Not positive on the ID's but I think some were Shelton, Walker, RPN, Stovall and plenty of others. They looked quick and in good shape. I am getting excited for the season. I have tickets to the first two home games!

Honestly I can't tell you why but that kind of stuff doesn't interest me. I lived in Canton, OH for 12 years and never went to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. I do enjoy meeting living legends as you can see in my moniker. I met Tim Brown, Autry Denson and Kevin McDougal the same time I met Lou. I spoke with all of them for a little while. Today I was walking around campus and ran into Charlie Weis 4 times in different places. Finally I introduced myself and spoke to him some.

I also went into the Football offices. Looked like they had at least a couple of players making visits. I have no idea who they were but it was sorta neat watching the coaches do their thing.
