The definition of insanity is repeating an act but expecting a different outcome. Some how the folks at the BCS expect this years’ outcome to be different from last years’ outcome. Add a game, expand eligible teams, blah blah blah.
I have finally come up with a suitable analogy for the BCS. Sex without an orgasm. A little crass but accurate if you think about. The BCS takes you right up to the moment of climax then stops a half stroke short of finishing the job. Instead of walking away with a grin of satisfaction; you limp away with a pained scowl.
The BCS bosses just rearranged the deck chairs on the Titanic and are expecting the boat to stay afloat.
But there seems to be good news for ND. With these guys I'm sure there's a catch.

"Beginning in 2006, Notre Dame will earn an automatic BCS berth with a top eight ranking in the final standings, Weiberg said. Also, under a new arrangement, Notre Dame is now guaranteed BCS money every season -- even when they don't play in a game.
In the past, Notre Dame would receive upward of $14 million when they played in a BCS game, but nothing if they didn't."
