If they are receptive to changing before the signing date, they will accommodate them if they are the type of player they want. That's just the game. Not everybody has Weis' policy of opening recruiting back up on the school's end once the verbally committed recruit starts taking other visits. Meyer is extreme in that he is much more patient, and actively looks for high profile commits at the end of the process, instead of trying to lock in early and hold on until signing day. While the Gators do a lot of slimy stuff, they are just playing the recruiting game legally, but in a different way. I guarantee that Urban is able to sleep at night just fine. You'd have to change the rules (early signing day perhaps) to counteract this practice I think. Granted, other practices alleged out there like getting jobs for family or scholarships for girlfriends are terrible, but not what we're talking about here. | Green With Envy | Maybe they should make it illegal to offer gymnastics scholorships, if say your girlfriend was a gymnast to get you to commit to the football program.. Oh, wait... It is illegal to do that... Yah I guess Florida is just playing the game. Don't worry, my guess is that Meyer will be headed to the pros after another few good years, and maybe a NC. |
