Tenuta & Recruiting - Notre Dame Football Discussion

Not sure if this has been addressed previously, so if it has, I will accept blasing and plead stupidity.

That being said, with the hiring of a proven defensive coach like Tenuta, how did this / does this reflect on closing out the year and future classes?

I know is has been said that JT is not much of a recruiter, but with CB and his track record at Tech, what are the feelings this being an absolute positive going forward.

I just wonder, with the change of heart of KLM and the "mystery man" if this staff addition had anything to do with their change in declarations.

I would think it would have to factor in if the recruit knows anything about Tenuta's defense at G.T.

I don't have anything to back up my POV but IMO I think his fire does nothing this year but without question can and I think will help with the '09 class.

I definetly think Tenuta's hire will have a big impact on next years class once they see how aggressive he is. I mean who wouldn't want to play in a defense like that. I think CB and Tenuta will be a great combo. We get the best of both worlds with a experienced agressive Tenuta with an up and coming and great recruiter in CB. The style of D will really sell itself.

His reputation will help....don't know much about him as a recruiter....we shall find out more soon enough.

from my knowledge he wasnt a great recruiter at g.t.

Stoney...this is what I got to thinking about. His "rep" as a recuriter is not a strong point, however, his defensive "rep" coupled with Corwin might carry a good bit of weight with some defensive recruits going forward.

Kind of makes me wonder how things would have turned out if the announcement would have been say 2 weeks earlier...Would we have signed OH or Wells...only one can speculate.
