Do they just show them around campus? Do they let them put a ND uniform on? Do they let them walk down the stairs slap the sign and walk out of the tunnel? Do they have the PA announcer announce their names? I have never been on one obviously. I wondered if anyone had any details? Maybe I am living in the movies too much, just wanted to know. |

Granted I wasn't a big time prospect and didn't get the first class service like some of these recruits, but I was made to fell like I was the most important person, at that moment, to each schools football programs. On all three visits I started my day by meeting the coaches and hooking up with my tour guide. The mornings were mostly filled with the respective schools' acedemic programs and where I would fit in. It's funny because at two of the three schools people who were associated with the athletic programs, not necessarily the football program, knew who I was and a little of my background. One school even went out of their way to introduce me to some people who lived near my home town. Lunch would lead me back to the football program whether it was eating with guys from the team or coaches, it was usually the time when I would start to be subjective about where the visit was going. Usually after lunch I would get the tour to the athletic facilities and get a debrief from the coaches before I left. The debrief usually consisted of the coaches reiderating that I was important to the program and they would love to have me. The reason I chose YSU was the fact that they really made you feel like you were family. Coach Mark Dantonio(MSU head coach) was the defensive coordinator and my tour guide and he was impressive to say the least. For lunch we met up with Coach Tressel and had the best Chicken cordon bleu that I think I ever had. Tressel was so well spoken and confident in all his self and his program. In the afternoon he took over as my tour guide and man did he win my mother over. He would make you feel so comfortable, you would feel like you grew up with him. He never put the other schools down and was shooter through out. It was an easy decision in the end. Last edited by ND=NC; 01-15-2008 at 09:43 PM. |
