OT: More Dirty Recruiting

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — A former high school coach has testified that three Southeastern Conference schools paid him money for his top football player, including a $150,000 payoff from the University of Alabama. He also says Michigan State offered money for the player.

Lynn Lang said he received the money on Alabama's behalf from Logan Young, a Memphis millionaire who is on trial on federal bribery and money laundering charges.

Lang, the former head coach at Trezevant High School, is awaiting sentencing on a guilty plea to racketeering conspiracy. He said he took the money to convince defensive lineman Albert Means to sign with the Crimson Tide in 2000.

michigan state is obviously denying having offered money.

although John L. seems to be cleaning things up at MSU, the Bobby Williams years were rough for the university. It was widely speculated that he ran (either knowingly or unknowingly) a dirty program. No discipline among players, etc. (remember Smoker - an admitted drug addict that missed the plane for a game)

Too bad....I feel sorry for John L. - I like him. This won't go over well for a university that already sits in the shadow of U-M.

Who cares, these schools will just get away with it. NCAA doesn't care about this stuff.

All the sh*t O$U has been involved in recently, and it looks like there going to get away with it.
