I was just over at the Washington website and checking out Ty's recruits and had a question pop into my head. For all of those kids who were disappointed or decommitted after the Ty firing, why didn't ANY of them follow him to Washington? I mean, not a one did... not even kids that were interested. Doesn't add up, does it? Their best recruit is a 3 star kicker. LACES OUT! URL: http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=147&p=9&c=8

You also hit on my second point, and that is the lack of interest from the recruits. However, I don't know how you verbally commit if you have that little interest. Some of these kids have some major character flaws, and/or people blabbing in their ear. Probably both.

I dont think many of them want to get involved with tys program because they feel its a losing battle. he slacks off recruiting duty, and we as irish fans know too well what happens when he does that. 2. hes not aggressive. i dont see a fire in tys spirit about the game of football. there isnt a drive in his eyes. through 3 years at notre dame, i think the most aggressive play called was the famous fake punt against stanford in 2003 (imo). his offense at notre dame was downright sissified in 3 years, by being conservative and not going after the other team. remember, we were only a few plays from losing 4 games in 2002. our defense kept us alive. 3. tradition. what would make me want to play for a guy who coaches teams to 6-5 or 5-6 all the time? yeah he took stanford to the rose bowl, but that was one time. you cant rely on one trip to the rose bowl to last you 20 years coaching in college. he is a great person when it comes to academics, but he doesnt win when he has to. in my opinion, i think the huskies are doomed. yeah ty can sure talk smooth on his t.v. interviews, and use words like "excellence", "pride" and "winning tradition", but if you dont see it on the field, then how can you expext to win? they sure arent seeing it so far in his recruiting efforts. this season i dont know how many times i saw tuck, grant, quinn, jackson, and others walk off the field in shame. the most famous quote i remember to prove my point is this- "its going to be a slow grind to the end of the game"- this was after halftime of the bc game, when we were WINNING. right then i said 'oh sh*t' and i knew we were in trouble. and somehow, we managed to let those weasels from 'bahstan' embarass us again. we are in for good fortunes next year with weis's offensive prowess, i really beleive that. |
