On to nitty gritty recruiting...

Well, the season is officially over, our coaches can pack up and move on and any player that doesn't want Weis to coach them can promptly leave now.

The next month and change is going to be crucial in how our recruiting class goes. New England has a first round bye, so I hope Weis is using some time to recruit. Also, is it bad for me to hope New England gets spanked in the playoffs so Weis can go into full Notre Dame mode?

I think it is better if they win the superbowl. He gets a lot of tv time that way and we need somthing to sell.We can't point to the bowl game unless we tell them they can definatly start next year.I think this years class is some what of a wash.

i have faith that weis will surprise us in this years class when it is all said and done. i think he knows what hes doing, and a 4th superbowl ring to show off wouldnt bother any recruits either.

I'm not gonna root for Weis to lose in the playoffs, unless it's against my Bills.

Recruiting looks like a wash this year, but like irishtexan says, Weis may surprize.
Maybe we can land guys like cary harris, Hord. I like that Weis is starting to offer some different guys.

Okay, interesting stuff. So what do you think on this question...

What does a recruit want more?
1) To see Weis win another NFL championship or
2) To visit with Weis and see what Weis can do to get him to the next level?

I think a prospective kid worries more about #2 because, in the end, it's all about himself, not the New England Patriots. Just my thoughts.

Anyway, DJ Hord is within reach now down to ND, KSU and Wisconsin after the LSU fiasco. I'd rather see Weis visiting and wooing him rather then watching him on TV.

Weiss is doing a hell of a job recruiting while with the Patriots. He has some kids interested in ND that weren't interested in WillingND. I think Weiss will suprise us with a couple of kids this year. Maybe even the TE James Dray from Oradell, NJ and just maybe Derrell Hand, DL from Philadelphia, PA (my hometown).

I think it set's up good for him if he wins it all.He still has the time to meet with recruits and they have somthing to get excited about.I am playing for the guy that lost in the second round of the playoffs or I am playing for the guy who is in the Superbowl. The media will cast his double duty in a bad light if they don't win it all.The media(ESPN)does control some of the perception of a program at the critical time. Why give them more ammo.If he does do it what can the say? What ever happens it is a new beginning and hopefully it can only go up.Got to go, ND jerseys are half priced,Get them before the bandwagon starts up.
