iuschickel is on a distinguished road

ND should look at BYU's Def. Coordinator

Bronco Mendenhal would be a great addition to ND even as head coach. He has done great things with that program, Look what they did to ND at the begining of the season.

Oh, you mean shutting down a struggling offense with no rhythm and its best player sitting on the bench, still undiscovered?

Get real, man. BYU went 5-6 this year, and their defense gave up 26.8 points a game.

I'd rather have Ron Zook.

Too late... He was snatched up by the Illini.

Exactly. And I'd rather have Zook splitting his time between the Illini and the Irish than to take BYU's defensive coordinator as a head coach. I'm serious.

Honestly... the defensive coordinator for a 5-6 team as Irish head coach? We might as well hire a guy right out of high school.

Oh, wait, we already tried that a couple of decades ago.

Defensive coordinators are far more risky then offensive coordinators. The most common path to a storied career in a head coaching position is through offensive mastery.

BYU's claim to fame was their wonky formation. I call that a gimmick. Utah arguably kept a better defense.
