Well, the only thing that makes him a questionable choice is the fact that he doesn't really have big time head coaching experience. While I think he could do the job, I think he would be made or broken by his assistant coaches.

Say Weis is brough in, who are his assistant coaches?

Weis is for real. He would be my first choice, and yes he does have head coaching experience: He spent one year as a highschool Head Coach in New Jersey and won the State Championship. He then won three superbowls. Gimme a break.

Are you serious? You are counting high school football coaching as bonafide experience? As for the Super Bowls, being a head coach and an offensive coordinator are very different monsters.

I like Weis too. Some say his appearance may scare off recruits. But I think his name alone could lure some recruits. The man has 3 superbowl rings.

I don't know if ND will hire him. Coaching at ND you have to make alot of public appearance, go to cocktail parties, and wear a shirt and tie at all times. Weis isn't a shirt and tie guy, he's a sweat pants and sweat shirt kinda guy.

Rick Majerus for example was all set to come to ND and coach basketball, he told them look I'll graduate your kids and we'll win, but thats all I'm doin. They said you have to make the public appearances at all the dinners and cocktail parties and always wear a shirt and tie. He said forget it.

Can't say I blame him.

Yes, I am. The point is that he has dominanted at every level he has risen too. As a positions coach in the NFL, his players have alway received accolades. As an offensive coordinator in the NFL, he has won the championship with otherwise weak teams (don't forget what he did with the Jets). And in the one year he was a head coach, he won it all. Winning is more than simple luck and far more than habit. Winning is a sign that he knows what he's doing. At every level he does no more or less than what it takes to win with the players he is given.
