Bullentin Board Material for CDub

No doubt one of the 'student'-athletes for MSU....

Clifton Ryan, a 6-foot-2, 302-pound redshirt junior defensive end, remembers vividly his trip to South Bend in 2003, when Michigan State came home with a 22-16 victory.

"When we were down there in '03, I went looking for Touchdown Jesus," Clifton said. "Once I seen it, I realized it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. You hear about a place, you hear about how it gets amped up; it just wasn't like I had expected.

"You gotta approach it like any other game. You gotta go out there and remember it's a football game. Once you go out there, it's still a game. They still play with that ball on the green grass and the white lines. Man on man. The better team's gonna win."

He's going to 'seen' the green turf of ND Stadium when Ryan Harris continually pancake blocks him....

Also, their coach, seems to still be in the Hawaiian mode....which is great as CW probably already has his gameplan figured out....

Quinn, who was recruited by Smith in his first year as the Spartan head coach, earned a special nickname.

"Just because 'Quinn the Eskimo' is experienced, that doesn't change our thinking all that much," Smith said. "When we were recruiting him, I always called him 'Quinn the Eskimo.'"

One media member asked Smith if that was why the Spartans didn't land him.

"It might've had something to do with it," Smith said laughing. The biggest concern Smith had about the Warriors was whether or not to exchange game tape.

He showed up to Monday's meeting with the media wearing a tan shirt with a Hawaiian print.

"As you can see, (Hawaii coach) June (Jones) and I exchanged shirts," Smith said, not afraid to enjoy the situation. "Instead of the film, he got me a shirt."

michigan state is to u-m like boston college is to ND.

i HATE MSU. they (including their fans) walk around with the swagger of an elite team when year in and year out, you can bet the farm that they will accomplish two things:

1. getting fired up for one game and ruining the conference/championship hopes of another team

2. never amounting to more than a season spoiler, failing to be a legitimate contender in either the conference or national picture

This reminds me of 1993 when Florida State came in #1 and were saying "I don't give a %$#% about 'Rock Knutne' ". Comical. They came out with a loss.

Four in a row in South Bend...that trend needs to stop Saturday. How pathetic.

These guys are talking some serious stuff, so they're overconfident at the very least.
