i HATE MSU. they (including their fans) walk around with the swagger of an elite team when year in and year out, you can bet the farm that they will accomplish two things:

1. getting fired up for one game and ruining the conference/championship hopes of another team

2. never amounting to more than a season spoiler, failing to be a legitimate contender in either the conference or national picture

Agreed.

Their fans (at least the ones whom I have had the distinct pleasure of knowing and even calling friends) have this huge chip on their shoulder. I guess it is precisely from #2 above.

This game always scares me to death.

a. Reference to the arcane Mannfred Mann's Earth Band song, "The Mighty Quinn"
