Looks like 2 backups from the OL will be transferring. No names have come out yet, but my guess is one of them is Bonelli, since he was suspended....

2 will be transferring from what ive heard, i think that leaves the OL at 11 including the 2 freshman we recruited this year. Jesus we need to stay healthy.

Absolutely...keeping the line deep and healthy will be a key for Quinn and the offense's success this year.

with these transfers, it should open the floodgates for recruits to come and play at ND. They should see we are weak on the line and could have the opportunity at playing early. But if not, I have seen crazier things happen at ND, like calling a bubble screen 3 times in one drive................

I dont know what we will do without depth at O-line. It wouldnt matter how many QBs we get or RBs, if we can not stay healthy at o-line than it is all for nothing.

Playing on the o-line is pretty demanding I doubt we will go the entire season without at least one starter getting hurt. Maybe not seriously hurt, but to the point somebody will have to take a seat for acouple plays or quarters.

I say screw another QB offer another O-lineman. :naughty:

We definitely need some OL's. Outstanding OL out of texas, Chris Stewart, was quoted as saying:

"I also really like Notre Dame's program and what coach (Charlie) Weis is doing with it right now. He's putting the program back in the right direction. I don't know that much about the campus, but I hear that it's really nice. I mean it's a nationally accredited college, plus they're rebuilding the program there, so there could be a chance for me to get some quality playing time."

These are the guys we need to start recruiting.

yes please open up the flood gates down here in Texas! There are so many kids that would go to ND, Ty just screwed up the pipeline that Davie and Holtz had. Purdue even gets alot of kids from Texas.

Where did this come from? I can't find any mention of it, except in passing. Vaughan transferring is all over the internet, and he was suspended last semester. I had no idea Bonelli was suspended, but he is another guy who grew up a Notre Dame fan and was willing to go to ND no matter what.

Futher, how can we have guys wanting to transfer when there are only about a dozen linemen on the team? If nothing else, I at least hope these guys are just going to graduate school elsewhere like Giles did. I find it curious that no names are being mentioned for linemen when Vaughan's intentions are so readily available.

Kadous, Vaughn, and Duerson will be gone. Bonelli isn't leaving. So it looks like only one OLinemen will be leaving. To bad, Kadous looked pretty good...

Question remains: Is Duerson just leaving the team or leaving Notre Dame? I would hate to see the kid go because of the sins of the father.

He is definitely off the team. Probably going to be in school, but that's not a given by any stretch.

As a football player, I never saw him as an ND recruit. I thought he was mid-major, I-AA material when I saw him as a senior.

My friend's sister is a teacher at Loyola Academy in Wilmette. She said Tregg is a very smart kid, but very introverted. He never once spoke of his father in four years of school. The younger son Brock is much the same way. Their upbringing was a very strict one.

I'm sorry to see Kadous go. Did he leave of his own volition or was he asked to leave?

Other sites are saying he was :censored:-canned. They are also saying Bonelli begged for his life and got back on the team after his ass was already booted out the door. I would take that all with a block of salt though.

Thanks R.R.

Kelly Green claims on his Blog that he has some inside info on one of the transfers. By simple deduction, I think he means Kadous. He said he would post it as soon as the transfer becomes official (just checked his site, hasn't posted the info yet). He's pretty straight forward and dosen't pull his punches so it should be interesting.

Was Kelly Green the guy who went ballistic on this entire board when one person wrote something to him he didn't like? I think that was him...

Yup. He also went ballistic when NDNation posted his recording of Weis' speach, and when he thought the Daily Contentions blog hacked his site, and from that point forward a good portion of ND fans have had no concern for him as he demonstrated the maturity of a four-year old and the intellectual capacity of a gnat. Read the Blue-Gray Sky instead:

although i've never really followed kelly green, i'll add my support for blue gray sky. i've always found them to be very informative and insightful. obviously nd fans, but i think they approach things pretty objectively all the same.

O line depth is now a major issue. Weis currently has scholarship offers out to 8 OT and 1 OG.

The ND front five has one 300 pounder....LeVoir. Harris, Santucci, Sullivan and Stevenson are all less than 3 bills. I think Harris is the best of the bunch.
