History gives Irish Edge against U$C - Notre Dame Football Discussion

If my research is correct I believe that history, and undoubtedly fate points that the Irish will defeat U$C this year.

Why you ask?

Because the Irish have never lost to the Trojans when they faced off on the 29th of November.

November 29, 1952 Notre Dame - 9 : SC - 0 - South bend
November 29, 1958 Notre Dame - 20: SC - 13 - LA
November 29, 1986 Notre Dame - 38: SC - 37 - LA

History seems to favor us on this date against the Trojans. This could be another one of those times. The 1958 Season and the 1986 were not great seasons for the Irish so this could be another chance to ruin the Trojan's chance at further expanding their football empire.

There's Always Hope. Remember: Unless it is learned from (Which obviously SC's athletes aren't really dedicated to learning) HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF!

I really really really hope we beat SC this year. At least be competitive with them, but i dont think the date will have anything to do with it

I'm not even going there! No team in the Michigan vs. Notre Dame series has ever won 3 games in a row either but I'm not going there either. We have a better shot at beating Michigan this year than Usc at Usc. I dont see us winning that game. Not even close.

I just can not see us beating U$C just yet. I am just hoping we are competitive.

I'm making no guarantees, and the date is going to have nothing to do with it, but I would never say never.

That being said, history is made every year. Once upon a time, ND had never lost to USC 38-0, and once upon a time...

To be fair, everyone I know of, myself included, said Stanford had absolutely no chance of upsetting USC last year, either.
