From my viewpoint, this comment sums up Charlie's most glaring 'issue' .... "As a playcaller Weis typically gets too creative when it isn’t necessary."
This has been relatively obvious because the Irish talent level hasn't been extremely high at various positions. Now that the talent level is getting to where it needs to be, he can take on a more creative play calling.

Horse-hockey. This is college football, not the NFL. There are mismatches all over the field, in every game. Find the other teams' weakness(es), and exploit them like Michael Jackson on a 9 year old boy. I remember that Holtz would sometimes run the same play 4 or 5 times in a row. If it worked, he would keep running it until you stopped it. What we need is less creativity, and more winning of one on one battles.

Another worthless article about my boy. I dont think we need someone to tell us how to rate the man. Everyone been very fair and cutting him slack. We knew going in what it was gonna take to right the ship. Last year was a shocker. I will be the first to admit that. But I have faith that the Mad Scientist will turn it around.

Atlanta Braves Denver  Broncos Montana 24 - Jeff Gordon

What he said.
Was it overcoaching when he put in a simple shotgun offense to give the young Qb more time to read the field, but it couldn't work because our best player on the field (Sully) couldn't snap it unless it went 10 feet over his head?

I think Weis FINALLY figured out he is coaching young men not overpaid proffesionals this winter. Hopefully, that will change a lot of the play calling and the way he treats these young men!
