Between that pass to Grimes and the perfectly lofted balls to the corner of the endzones I think we have our QB that will lead us to the promise land. Those kinds of passes are completely independent of who you play, as long as Jimmy can consistantly throw the ball like that, it won't matter who we play whether it is USC or Duke, those throws will end up with scores.

I know it was against Duke but he can use those attributes against anybody in the country from now on...I think he feels like he finally belongs..
Sorry--I'm new at posting and using the quote feature. this is one of the quotes that talk about what a great QB he is.

Ok, but no one called him a genius.

All of the opinions given by C2K were backed up with a factual example of things he did during the game.

He played today like a freshman QB. Made some rookie mistakes and bad decisions. But overall, the time off helped him improve from his first few starts.

I think the analysis C2K gave is pretty accurate from the Airforce game and aside from the few big mistakes he made today, he is learning and doing better.

I'm not saying you can't feel the way you do, but your post in the other thread implied opinions by people that I don't think were actually shared. (i.e. the genius comment)

Thanks for backing me up SoCal, I have always respected your opinions on every topic. I just wanna make this clear. I am not a Clausen homer, regardless of my screen name. I just tell it like I see it. Yesterday, Clausen did make some mistakes. That pic he threw was inexcusable. I admit. I also believe that he displayed some things the last few weeks that made him the #1 recruit in the country last year. His accuracy was great when he had time. That out to Kamara on the far side of the field really showed me that he has an NFL caliber of an arm. That is one of the hardest throws in football 2 make. He also is showing better touch on the long balls. This is due to the fact that he has finally got into a little rythem with his WR's...He has also shown that he can throw it away. Albeit, he could have avoided a couple of more sacks. I saw a good day from JC but he could have done much better. Remember he is only a FRESHMAN. We will see just how much he can learn from his mistakes as with the rest of our young team against San Diego St. next season.

Irishgirl is right to a degree, that some people put JC way too high on a pedestal and expected too much from him.

But i think most people's expectations were lowered once he got on the field, prior to the Airforce game. He showed improvement and did some things that show he has potential to be great. But yes, he's still playing like a freshman.

If people still have overly high opinions of him (i.e. someone is in fact calling him a genius) then her criticism is legit. I just don't recall too many people going that far.
