| Waterboy | Need Itinerary Help First time poster here. Glad to be among other fans...there aren't a lot in Memphis. Although I've been to ND games before, I have never really done a "real ND" home game. I've been to Legends to drink and I've walked around campus...but never anything like the Drummers Circle or Pep Rally or anything truly traditional as it relates to ND. I am coming up for the ND-Michigan game and put together the following itinerary. I was hoping some of you could take a look and maybe suggest other things instead of what's on my list...maybe give me a few insider hints...or tell me if my times are wrong. I'm sure this is a bit anal retentive...but I want to make sure I do it right this time. Arrive in South Bend Friday at 3:30pm 3:30-5:00: College Football Hall of Fame 5:30: Head to pep-rally (not sure how long this lasts) 7:30: Guiness at Legends 10:00: Try to see the helmets being painted in the north entrance (not sure if this is possible) Midnight: Drum Circle Drinks at Corby's afterwards Gameday: 9:00: Rockne's Grave then Rockne Memorial 9:30: Grotto to light a candle 10:00: Bloody Marys and Bagpipes close to stadium (not sure when this is but went two years ago and loved it) 11:00: Try to find some nice tailgaters 1:30: Player walk to stadium 2:00: Band Concert 3:00: Game After Game: The Linebacker. I am going to the Michigan game in less than a month, and you gave me a great starting off point. I was at the USC game last year (disaster of a game), so i saw some of the stuff already, but there is plenty more that I look forward to seeing. My lady is from South Bend and is a graduate, so I've been to SB plenty of times, but there is nothing like gameday. The pep rally, if I remember correctly, started later, like at about 7 or so. It was a great time. As for the Linebacker, it is PACKED! But i still had to do it once. I suggest hanging out with the old men around the bar and talking old school ND football. Legends is great for a relaxed time drinking a Guiness. I'll be looking for a good tailgate as well. Good luck!!!!! |

However, for this thread, it doesn't work because the store is closed during the season. The only reason I get to shop there is because my lady is from SB and we go to visit her parents. But as far as going there before a game, as far as I know it's always closed during these times. That's what my lady told me, and every time we go for a game it's closed. If I'm wrong let me know... | |
