A . A hockey player. As long as I can remember, I've wanted to be a hockey player. Q . Never anything else? A . No. I started skating when I was 2 years old, and I wanted to play hockey since then. Q . Did you play any other sports? A . In high school, I did. Volleyball, golf, baseball. Things didn't conflict with hockey season. Q . Talk about volleyball. There isn't as much guys' volleyball in Michigan. A . I loved it. It's a great sport. I was a setter. It was fun. It worked out well with hockey season, too. I played two years of it. Q . You're from the north side of Chicago (Buffalo Grove, Ill.), so you're probably a Cubs fan, right? A . Oh yes. Q . Do you think the curse will ever be broken? A . They better do something good soon. You see what the Red Sox and White Sox did the last couple of years, and they haven't won the World Series in so many years. People do love the Cubs, though. They just love going down there and watching the games. Q . What's the funniest thing you've ever seen in hockey? A . That's a tough one. In this sport you see so much stuff. I'd have to go back a lot of years. (As a youngster) you'd always see someone go on the ice with their skate-guards. That was always funny. Q . Going to Notre Dame, did you go to a lot of football games? A . Quite a few. That really opened up my eyes about college football. You don't realize how big it is until you go to one of those games. The whole experience is just unbelievable, with the tradition and all the people. Q . What was your favorite subject in school? A . Math. I always liked numbers, not really a big words guy. I liked numbers, and I graduated with a business major. Q . Best hockey movie? A . "Slap Shot," it has to be. Source: Detroit News

| Junior | Although Miracle was a fantastic movie, Slap Shot is hands down the greatest. "I'm gonna wiggle it at em Joe." "No, you're not." ""Oh, yes I am, and you wanna know why? Because I hope you have a heart attack and die, you and these f-n' fashion shows." "I'm gonna wiggle it at em' Joe and when I do every person in that audience, with the exception of my wife is gonna be runnin for the exits." "Joe Mc Grath here" (screaming in the background) Fantastic movie!!!! YOU GOON!!!! |
