New Athletics Director?

John B.Swarbrick, a lawyer, former lacrosse player and '76 graduate of Notre Dame, is expected to replace Kevin White as the athletic director for Notre Dame, according to Irish Illustrated.
As reported by Jeff Jeffers of WNDU Sports, he was instrumental at bringing the Super Bowl to Indianapolis and he has been associated with the Indiana Sports Commission for the past 20 years. It is believed the official announcement will be made on Wednesday the 16th at ND.

BlueGraySky has a great post with a long list of newspaper clippings detailing Swarbrick's success in various athletic leadership positions. This guy has an impressive kill list, if you will, including brokering the successful Indianapolis bid to host the 2012 Super Bowl. It should be good to have a "ND" guy as our AD to go along with the "ND" guy that is our football coach.

Wonder if they know each other, Swarbrick graduated in 76 and Weis in 78.
