It is a tough conference to travel in, but I don't think this explains ND's failures against ranked competition. This just isn't a very well coached team.

Pitt wins at home vs Georgetown. Notre Dame blows out Cincy at home. Georgetown blows out ND. Cincinatti beats Pitt at home. ND beats Uconn at home. Marquette blows out ND at home. Uconn blows out Marquette at home. If anyone can make any sense of any this other than the fact that it is extremely difficult to win on the road in the big east please let me know. If it is just bad coaching then there are alot of coaches in this league who should be out of a job b/c they cant get their teams ready to play on the road.

mbooch,

Having a 31 home court winning streak, which is 3 best in the nation, as well as, being the 4 th and 7th best nationally in both assists and rebound margin is due to coaching. Having Ryan Ayers not show up in games, playing the two top conference teams on the road, where BE road teams are currently 10-35, is also not due to bad coaching.

Give it a rest. Brey is doing an excellent job. Remind me again where they were predicted in the Big East preseason polls?

We'll see. Because the last few games haven't been televised, I haven't been able to watch them, except via the computer. HOWEVER, what I have seen is a team that plays pretty good defense (that's basically a hustle thing) nut, for the past SEVERAL years, hasn't moved the ball well on the half court. THAT'S COACHING. When the 3's fall, Brey's a hero. When they don't, ND goes down by big numbers.

You CAN learn some things from the computer play-by-play, though. Against GTOWN, very close to half of ND's shots came from 3's ville. And HArangody got handled by the GTOWN center (4 fer 13 from the field). GTOWN outscored ND something like 32-8 in lay-ups. ND does NOT get the good, high percentage shots. Them's the facts. But, we'll see.

I think too that Notre Dame needs to get a true big guy. They always get these 6'10" guys. That dont really work anymore. We need to somehow get a 7'0"+ with some beef. And another part of the problem is Notre Dame has ZERO depth. NONE what so ever. I'm not giving up on ND and Brey just yet. There's still alot of games to be played but we need some quality wins and we dont really have one yet this year.

AMEN. Harangody needs help in the paint, and some rest. A lot of this is probably linked to the fact that Zeller never really bulked up, so he's more of a step back and shoot 3's kind of tall man. Still, though, did you see what DUKE was able to do to Clemson, with maybe one guy on the court over 6'5"? Pretty impressive.
