I like you all and we're all a part of the same family, alum or not.

Moving on, what was your favorite/best class that made the biggest impact on you or you enjoyed the most during your time at ND and why?

For me, I was a Bio major, Class of '08, but the best class I took was Christianity and World Religions taught by Brad Malkovsky. The class looked at Judaism, Hinduism, Taoism, Buddhism, Islam, and a few other major religions from the scope of Christianity/Catholicism and really opened my eyes to how similar all of our religions actually are. Also, I learned some important things about the Catholic Church's stance on several issues that I had not known before, such as the Church not opposing evolution and also the Church's acceptance of other religions as alternative paths to God. The thing that really made this class exceptional though, wasn't the subject matter, but the professor himself. He wasn't just teaching from a book, instead, he taught from his life experiences. For example, he extensively studied Hinduism and spent much of his time in India where he fell in love with a young Muslim woman who was arranged to marry another Indian/Muslim man. Sometime close to the wedding, she ran away from her family and arranged marriage to marry Dr. Malkovsky. He also fully immersed himself in other religions and cultures throughout his life.
