Chris looks like he'll be all Irish if ND offers. He's been to ND twice now. Once this past weekend, and he was also at the Purdue game.
He said he really loves the SS position, and he also has a very successful track career in the 400m and 4x100 relay.
Some quotes from Chris...
When asked about when he'll end his recruiting.
"That's all up to the Notre Dame coaches. If they offer I'll be up there as soon as I graduate."
"Notre Dame is one of the greatest places ever!"
"Notre Dame is my highest priority, but I'm still being open minded and looking at other schools"
When asked about the weather/snow.
"I really enjoyed it, I don't live around the snow. I loved it."
"Distance is not an issue for me when it's a school like Notre Dame."
"I can't see myself anywhere else except Notre Dame."

Does anyone know where this kid will be ranked? Is he elite talent? Is he top 10 for DB's or is he just a solid player?

It looks like he has good size, and he is obviously fast, he should be a good get. I'll see of I can catch a game if he plays a team close by.

Yeah, as of last night he's on my list of favorite '08 prospects along with the LB trio of Filer, Nagel, and Posluszny, and the WR duo of Floyd and Buckner.

Wow...that was a great interview. Sounds like he's ours if offered.

Am I the only one who is kind of wondering why he still doesn't have an offer. Charlie if you're reading this, um do you think you could um offer the 6'1 corner back with blazing speed who is pretty much begging to play football here. Thanks Charlie.

well let's see how good he is before we just start offering people.

Its up to the coaches obviously. Sounds like a lock if he is offered. They can't throw offers out to everyone this early though. A fast kid out of Texas who loves ND will be hard to pass up.

Has Texas offered him? Does he not have any interest in going to Texas? It just seems like they get the top talent in Texas every year and if he hasn't been offered yet maybe is just isn't that good. JMO. I haven't seen a video of him but his measurables and speed are really good. I hope we get him but I think Will Hill and Brewster are higher priorities right now.

you could probably though in Dan McCarthy and Bradon Leslie as well

It doesn't seem like he has very much interest in Texas right now. These are the schools that are recruiting him that he has the most interest in: Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, TexasTech, and LSU.

Well if he is being recruited by these other schools he must be pretty good IMO. I read on another sight that the competition he plays against is some of the best in Texas and that he is legit, however having said that I put more trust in Charlie than in some other poster. I will try to be patient but as was the case with Brian Smith I think it is a mistake to not go after the guys who first off want to be here and and have the talent to compete and excel.

Maybe they are waiting to get him into a camp and then offer

6'1" 4.5 speed I will take him...I like the taller db's that are fast and can get off their feet....

Quick hips are really important as well, that's why some taller CBs stuggle at the higher levels of football, but it wouldn't be as big of a deal at SS.

Has anybody heard any new information on Kris? I was just wondering how he did on his SAT's and why he wasn't offered yet?

Im assuming because he isnt in the top tier of saftey prospects, if ND offered he would commit on the spot. Since we have alot of safties on roster and its not a depth concern, he problably won't get an offer unless the guys we offered now go somewhere else. There is alot of time left now, i look at him as a Brian Smith type who if they couldn't wait any longer for an offer and commited somewhere else that if down the road we offered he'd still come.

According to both his Scout & Rivals profiles, Kris, like Marcel Rose still has no offers. In both cases that fact may have something to do with both Kris & Marcel being expected to commit to ND on the spot if offered, although in Marcel's case test scores are also an issue.

I added a video of some highlights of Kris.
I have also ran across some info that he is retaking some of his courses in an attempt to raise his GPA for the admissions department at ND.

He seems like a good kid, but his video is average at best. I just don't see him getting an ND offer especially because we are deep at DB and only taking the best.

The film I've seen of Johnston looks pretty one dimensional. Not that he can't cover, but most of the tape I see of him has him playing like an 8th guy in the box type, only playing the run. He may be talented, but I think they'd rather offer someone who shows greater versatility before him.
