This has been relatively obvious because the Irish talent level hasn't been extremely high at various positions. Now that the talent level is getting to where it needs to be, he can take on a more creative play calling.
Horse-hockey. This is college football, not the NFL. There are mismatches all over the field, in every game. Find the other teams' weakness(es), and exploit them like Michael Jackson on a 9 year old boy. I remember that Holtz would sometimes run the same play 4 or 5 times in a row. If it worked, he would keep running it until you stopped it. What we need is less creativity, and more winning of one on one battles.
