Old school?? I listened to Young's Harvest (1972, I think) last night...the "Godfather of Grunge." Among his very best work...35 freaking years ago. In the late 1950's, Coltrane recorded Blue Train and Davis put out Kind of Blue. I hear songs played off those two albums almost every day on a jazz radio station...50 years later and their still standard-bearers! The jazz equivalent of Rockne and Leahy. And for the reggae fans, Peter Tosh's Legalize It (mid-70's). Can't go wrong with The Harder They Come.
