All State in PA this year.

Prep's offense and defense were outstanding, but Chereson added another dynamic to the Ramblers. After setting a school record with nine field goals in 2011, he tacked on five more this season and set records for extra points in a season and a career. The 5-foot 10-inch, 170-pound kicker had 82 extra points this season and 135 in his career, but the most impressive part of his game was kickoffs. Chereson finished with 47 touchbacks as a senior, including an average of 52.5 yards per kickoff.

"I wanted to break the field-goal record, but finishing with 14 is great and I didn't really expect to have another great season like last year," Chereson said. "Coach Bryan Baumann worked with me this year and it really paid off. In the offseason, I worked out with my uncle and hit the weight room. That work added at least five more yards and another half second to my hang time on kickoffs."

Chereson has a standing offer from Youngstown State, while Notre Dame has offered him an opportunity to be a preferred walk-on. He has also received interest from other D-I programs but hasn't made a decision yet.

Maybe it's just a brain lapse but what' the difference between a regular walk on and a preferred walk on?

Preferred walk-on doesn't have to try out and make the team. He has a spot on the team, just not a scholarship.

would be extatic to land a solid kicker like this without using a scholly yet, but wouldn't blame the kid in the least to go somewhere else for free. HUGE debt if this kid even goes one year as a walk on.
