Christian (no relation to Pat, that I know of) will be on campus at the end of June for the last summer camp. Christian has kind of flown under the radar until lately, when he picked up an offer from Connecticut.

He has the size and speed to play WR, though he currently plays RB for his HS team.

With a good showing at the camp, he could end up with an offer.

Other schools like UConn, Buffalo, Pittsburg and Penn State have either offered or shown some interest here. The interesting thing is not all of the schools are recruiting him for the same position. Some look at him as possibly a linebacker, safety or a wide receiver.

ND is looking at him as a receiver.

Christian says he prefers offense.

I am confused as hell. NO clue why ND would even look at him.

I am glad that they are looking at him. It doesn't mean they will necessarily offer but I'm glad that the coaching staff will give an honest look at anyone. That is how you find the guys that slip through the cracks. As far as the WR recruiting is going we have our sights set on some pretty lofty targets. If we are looking at getting two this year, offering a guy like this who is capable (I don't know, I haven't seen him) might put pressure on one of the higher rated WRs to make a decision sooner with only one remaining spot. That is pure speculation of course. This young guy wants an offer, is heading to camp, and will get an honest look from the coaching staff, nothing wrong with that. Keeping their eyes open is how we got Taylor Dever too, another late bloomer.
