'09 NJ LB Carlo Calabrese (ND Verbal 5/22/08) - Page 23 - Notre Dame Football Discussion

Arite boys, it's game week so we went and scouted carlo friday nite at their game scrimmage before we play them this saturday, and he seems smaller than the rivals measurements. But we'll c what he does in a real game this weekend.

Soooooooooooooooooooooo i played against carlo this week and i must say, he is an absolute monster. He may have only had 5 tackles in our game, but jesus, his film does not accurately display his speed, or maybe he just got faster this offseason. Verona used him at eveything, lining him up at WR, FB and TE. As a LB, he was blitzing 75% of the time, but he also has great instincts. In one instance, as i was getting into my stance on the line, he called out the play we were running and i was stunned, because at this level, it takes a real student of the game to be able to do that. He truly is a wonderful get for ND and should be a great LB, due to his speed and incredible strength.

hahahah yeah, it's nice when your biggest offensive lineman is 10 pounds lighter than carlo.

Nice write up on carlos mom and his family. Good to see he comes from such a tight knit community. And looking at the picture on the side, Carlo is a freaking beast. Link below.

Played against Verona again this year, Carlo played well against us and they suffered their only loss this season against us. I played center this year and had to block Carlo almost the whole game. We had over 250 yards rushing in this game, and one of our players is Kelly Tripukas son Jake.

Our team Mountain Lakes ended the season 11- 0 and we will be playing at Giants Stadium this Friday for the State Championship.
