There's a huge difference between trying to get him to stay and forcing him to stay.

Notre Dame USA

true. they can't force him to stay. but they could decide not to give him a scholarship when he came back from his mission. the scholarship offers are renewed year to year. so they wouldn't have to give him a scholarship when he was done with his mission.

be that as it may, this is all academic until he chooses a school. let's wait and see.

That's a two-way street for any school he chooses, and is one of the reasons why letting a player go on a mission is so risky. Once the mission is over he is free to sign with any school he wants

I'm not so sure about that... I think that technically in this situation before a player could play for another school he would need released from his original scholarship and specifically have clearance from the releasing school to play for the new school. And, obviously he would not receive clearance to play for an upcoming opponent. So, its a two-way street in this respect too.

Wasn't he supposed to make his visit known soon? Any idea on where he will visit or will he wait until after his HS season since he is flying so far?
