That's one of the dumber things ive ever heard. A couple of jackass' on the internet do not really influence a recruit in where they want to go, if they did that theyd end up crying themselves to sleep at night. also, you cant judge a football program by a few people on the internet...u just cant.

Well, if I had connections and knew what was going on, and what was going on involved good news for the Irish, I'd be pretty excited to share it ... it's because of posters like this that IE used to break news before the recruiting sites did.

I'm a hockey writer by profession and a member of the NHWA. I hold press credentials in 12 different NHL venues and spend a lot of time around real insiders. And most of them don't feel the need to sign into internet message forums and post their info 4 different times in 4 different places and then get mad when people don't take them seriously.

Well sure, but they're also the kinds of guys who hang around sportswriters. We're just fans here, and so it's understandable that we react a bit more excitedly when some good news comes down the pipe. It's not like he has some other venue by way of which he can share it ...

You'd be surprised. I know a recruit who was considered a heavy Notre Dame lean one year who saw the chaos on message boards after a loss. Fans blaming players and blaming coaches and was rather turned off by the mentality of the fanbase. It might seem trivial, but it is taken into account by a good amount of recruits. This particular recruit decided on the Buckeyes instead.
