The coaches told Ron Nagel, Aaron and Brett's dad, they project him as an OLB but would not rule out TE for Brett.

Northwestern is going to pursue Brett pretty hard.

I know that he worked out with the WRs at the AAA Jr. Combine, as did a few other TEs like Austin Holt. Anyone have any word on what his favorite position is?

Brown, ND's first-year defensive coordinator, played at Michigan."(Brown) said if he would have gotten offered by Notre Dame," Slaughter said, "he would have gone to Notre Dame."

Has no preference. You know how the typical answer goes.

Vanderbilt, Northwestern and Iowa have offered.

No they haven't. I wonder since they know he would verbal to ND, they are taking their time with him and going after bigger names. If those don't work out, then he will get his "dream" offer.

I hope this isn't the case. We were fortunate to grab last minute dream school types like Brian Smith. I don't this (read: I'm hoping) Weis will not repeat the only the elite recruiting strategy.

You would think that they have learned from their mistakes last year. However, it is still very early in the process. If he hasn't been offered by May or mid-summer, then I think they are holding out for bigger names. Remember that the 08 LB class looks pretty loaded and ND already has 4 or 5 offers out to them. They still haven't offered Jon Major yet and he seems to be a national recruit.
