The departure of Demetrius Jones and the scholarship it opened up raises in the interesting possibility that Harper may take some more interest in ND if he thinks he has a shot at playing quarterback, and Coach Weis did say in his press conference this week that he would consider recruiting an extra quarterback next year if it was somebody who'd also be able to play another position - the same presumably applies to this year, and so Harper and Terrell Pryor could both be players who'd fit that mold, though ND is pretty clearly off Pryor's radar. That said: I really don't see this happening. ND doesn't run an option offense, and with Clausen at the helm now and Crist coming on board next year it would take some serious self-deception for Harper to convince himself that he has a real shot at playing QB at ND. Such self-deception could, of course, be aided by the coaching staff if they wanted, but with the way the Jones situation panned out it's hard to imagine them leading a kid on when they know full well he'll end up unhappy. Whew. That's all I have to say about that.
