Has anyone heard anything else about this? This guy on sportsline is usually a pretty accurate poster from what i have seen of him. |

He says he definitely wants to play quarterback in college, which is bad for us. Then he says his favorites are ND, Kansas State, Mizzou, and the Fighting Zooks - which sounds good, until you realize that those other three are all places where he'd be a QB, which makes the ND stuff seem like posturing. THEN he says his two definite official visits are ND and Cal ... Make of it what you will. I sure won't be holding my breath on this kid.

To me it seemed as though he wanted an ND offer just to be able to say he has one and use it to get attention and possible draw more offers from some of the bigger football schools. If I had to guess I'd say he'll end up at a smaller football school that is recruiting him as a QB rather than a WR, or ATH. |

Harper adds a big one By Jeremy Crabtree, Recruiting Editor – Rivals.com Need any more evidence that Wichita (Kan.) Northwest four-star athlete Chris Harper is one of the best players in the nation? He's already proven it on the field with two dominating seasons on the grid iron and the basketball court. He also did well this summer at several summer camps. Plus he has offers from some of the nation's top programs. Well, that offer list – and his case for national prominence – just officially grew by one more major program. "I just hung up the phone with Charlie Weis at Notre Dame, and he offered me a scholarship as a receiver," Harper said. "It's really exciting to get an offer from a big school like that. It's always been one of the schools that I was very interested in. I really liked it when I went up there for my visit, and I'm definitely considering using one of my official visits to Notre Dame." Harper took an unofficial visit to South Bend, Ind., earlier this summer and came away very impressed. When he was in South Bend, Harper was showed around campus by Irish defensive coordinator Corwin Brown, quarterback Demetrius Jones and receiver George West. "It was really nice there," Harper said. "Notre Dame and Missouri would be the two nicest schools that I've been to when talking about facilities. They gutted out the old stuff and remodeled everything. I went around campus, and it's a smaller school. That's not necessarily a bad thing. They've only got about 8,000 students. The coaches were real cool, too. " Coach Brown said I would have a good chance to play early because they don't have too many guys that can do so many different things with the ball like I can. He knew about the situation with me wanting to play quarterback because he went through it also with the recruiting process." At this point, the only school that Harper said he knows for sure that will get a visit is Cal. "I don't know when I'd go out there, but that's a school I want to visit for sure," he said. "It'll probably be a visit some time during the season or right after it." Harper, who is 6-foot-2 and 231 pounds, has scholarship offers from Illinois, Kansas State, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Michigan, California and several others. He recently took a string of unofficial visits to schools like Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss. He camped this summer at Kansas State. "I'm still working on a top five," he said. "I want to use my officials to visit some of the schools that are further away that I haven't been to yet. The teams that are recruiting me at quarterback will be there for sure, though. And at this point, that's just Kansas State, Missouri and Illinois. I don't know about the others yet." Harper is ranked as the nation's No. 16 athlete and the No. 156 player in the nation. As a junior he rushed for more than 1,000 yards and threw for more than 500 yards.
