I would hate to see us p/u no one at RB. |

From what I've heard Williams and Gray have been the top two RBs on ND's board for quite a while. Remember that ND passed on offering Jonas Gray for the guys that they already have offered so I wouldn't really expect any more RB offers to come out unless they didn't think they were going to get any, and they still felt that they needed one. |

What happens if we end up with neither? I know we have three solid backs for next year with Aldridge, Allen and Hughes, but some insurance if one of them goes down would be a good idea. Next year, assuming Jabbie does not return as a 5th yr, we have Munir Prince and Nikolas Rodriguez as other RB's (non full-backs), and I think Prince has officially moved to defense. I suppose that if Weis wants one or both of those two, what he doesn't want to have happpen is a different target accept and then run out of scholarships or worse, have to pull that guys offer after he accepts. |

I think where Weis is concerned is that he doesn't want to use up a scholarship on a guy that won't see the field much. What's the point in offering and taking a guy that might very possibly get beat out by backs that ND brings in next year. Then they'll just be riding the bench and taking up a schollie. But if ND were to not take anyone in this class then they would have an even better chance of landing an elite guy next year, and they could use that extra schollie to build depth in an area that was left thin because of a transfer. | |
