He just kept repeating how to lay off and it's a big decision, but ND fans would be happy in the end. -------These are quotes from another post of his. "Since it is getting late I will give you guys a little more scoop on BN. As I said ND made a school visit again on Monday as did Louisville with their head coach, Indiana, and Alabama. Indiana offered as did Alabama. Alabama thinks he would be a perfect 3 technique in their defense where teams would have to single block him. If you guys will let his recruiting play out a little bit I think ND will be very happy in the end." "I do like the passion that you ND fans have for your football but take it easy on a kid that doesn't make decisions on hype but on what will be in his best long=term interest. The ND staff is doing a great recruiting job." -------I think that looks even better that he got an offer from Alabama who is going to be running the 3-4, which shows Brandon is obviously a perfect nosetackle if now Weis and Saban the only 2 powers running the 3-4 have made him a priority. |

| Junior | In what would have been a surprise probably only if it did not happen, Brandon Newman gave the Irish his verbal committment today. Surprise or not, it is great news for ND to have a legitimate NG for the 3-4. Brandon was one of the most heavily recruited players by the Irish this year, and CB seemed to make it his personal mission to convince Brandon that ND is the best place for him. Mission successful. Another recruiting coup for CB and CW, and more evidence that CW knew exactly what he was doing when he hired CB, and he hasn't even coached a down in a live game yet. Congratulations to Brandon Newman & his family, and to the Notre Dame coaching staff. |

His hiring was by far more of an impact then anybody would've imagined. http://www.courier-journal.com/blogs/demling/blog.html |
