![]() But in other news, I just checked out John's highlight real and he looks to be a solid receiver and return man. While he didn't outright burn his defender, John uses his height and vertical to make the catch at the balls highest point making life difficult for a defender to defend him on deep routes. His upfield awareness makes him a threat for both returns and for yards after the catch. His junior year, he's returned two kickoffs and two punts for touchdowns. On a particular clip, John caught a pass thrown to him on a crossing route, shifted his weight and ran up field in the opposite direction and taking it in for six exhibiting skills reminiscent of another tall receiver we used to have around these parts. John has definitely earned his comparisons to the Shark and, given the right offense, John has the potential to make a name for himself at Notre Dame. | |

WHY do people sleep on his wheels? Granted it's not Florida, but the guys got speed. Second, his playmaking ability is pretty outstanding and very versatile. His film was ALOT better then I thought it was going to be. Solid 4 star without a doubt, anybody that gives him a 3 doesn't know football. Last edited by Irishknight1023 : 05-30-2007 at 04:03 PM. |

He showed some pretty legitimate YAC potential, and I look at him as a real WR after seeing this film, rather than a one dimensional type receiver.. Again, his competition isn't up to snuff, but he looked very athletic. I think his running style is a little less "effortless" looking that Samardzija, but the comparisons are legitimate. Michigan was right to throw him an offer. I'd say he's a lower to mid level 4 star based on this film. Hell, he even has played some QB - should be a threat to throw on a reverse or two, like Samardzija the pitcher. |
