| Blue Chip Recruit | Scout.com: The Butler Said It Arthur Brown is finally getting into recruit mode; apparently he is now very focussed on sorting out the schools that he wants to visit. He also indicates that he has no favorites at this point, but will narrow a list down to 10 schools and do officials. He may visit for the USC game (that may also be to see the Trojans; but he also has interest in the Irish). He wants to play Outside LB, cause he wants to stay at the lower weight. One other interesting tidbit from Allen Wallace in this story: -apparently Arthur's family has adopted Bryce Butler, who has moved to Kansas, changed positions, and is potentially the top running back for 2009. Not sure if Brice/Bryce had to petition for a red-shirt in order to fall back into the HS class of 2009. Wow, is Allen Wallace a crack reporter!!!! Makes you wonder if he got anything right in the article???? |

Brian Butler is someone I haven't heard of until this article but it sounds like he is helping out the Brown's with the recruitment process. |

"(Pete) Carroll, (Bob) Stoops and (Urban) Meyer all said that Bryce is the best tailback they have ever seen, period" ----Urban, Stoops and Poodle all saying that again? I thought Stoops said that to McGuffie. Same coaches different recruit and they just eat it up. |

were added.Point was that Allen Wallace is not the most accurate reporter/analyst (Golf Cart tour). Here he is talking about one of the highest profile recruits for 2009, and he can't even get the last name right. | |

If it is as important for him to play with talented people as he says, you would think we should shoot to the top of his list. We should have the #1 defensive line class in the country without question. Wtih A. Brown we would also have the #1 LB group for the year. Even without him we would have top 3 with the addition of either Filer or Sabino and in our secondary we basically got our top two CB targets with Slaughter and Blanton. With the possibility of J. Brown or McCarthy (or both) jumping on board the DB class should also be in the top five. I can't imagine anyone in the country matching us on the defensive side of the ball. If we get a visit I think our chances could really improve. A tour with Corwin and a ND vs USC game in South Bend could go a long way. |
