| Blue Chip Recruit | I've asked around about him and most don't have him as 1 of the top 5 RB's in Texas let alone the country so you can kiss that 5 star rating good bye seniorle because he's not going to get past 4 stars. Many seemed to recgonize him as a pretty good athlete but many doubt that he will be a RB at the next level. What little I've seen of him I was fairly impressed but the thing that gets me is that in the rivals piece on him, he gets compared to white speed WR's not RB's and because of that and what I've heard elsewhere I highly doubt he's a RB at the next level if he's with an elite program. It's only a guess but I think Weis & Co. see him like they saw Barry Gallup in '06, a stud HS RB that will be converted to be a WR in college. I think they see these kids as great athletes and winners but without a true position and that at the very least they should be special team stars. |

| Waterboy | These statements saying this kid isn't an elite talent and a surefire rb in D1 are ignorant and backwards to say the least. Have you seen the footage and numbers this guy is putting up?! He's playing in the largest division in ALMIGHTY Texas that everyone raves about and is super fast and athletic. His measurables are freakish and he will only get better. I would say he is close if not as good as AA who by the way got injured this year without much flack about his durability. This kid is white. Plain and simple racism is the only obstacle he may face that will deny him the opportunity to play his natural position in college. The pollitically incorrect topic of racism against whites may be taboo, but its time that the word is a two way street. |

I like McGuffie, but he isn't the same as AA. McGuffie's coach even pointed out that part of his durabilty is due to the fact that he hasn't taken too many direct hits. That's a partial bonus, but it also makes you wonder what would happen when he inevitably does take some big hits. I'm sure CW is recruiting him as a WR, where I think he could be a burner and similar to Shelton, a long ball threat that spreads the secondary out. It has nothing to do with race, as far as I am concerned. Just look at his build, and compare that to AA. Here you go, I'll do it for you... http://img126.imageshack.us/img126/4...e725200eo1.jpg http://img382.imageshack.us/img382/9607/291090ok3.jpg actually I compared the tape of AA and McGuffie again, and you are right, they aren't dramatically different. AA still has better balance. The thing abotu McGuffie is that 90% of his highlites, he doesn't get touched in, and just bolts to the end-zone. He makes some nice cuts, and does have very good speed though. e may have sub 4.4 speed, but hasn't been officially clocked yet, from what I have seen. He just doesn't have the body of an every-down back, right now, whereas AA has that durability IMO. But he could be an amazing slot guy or special threat ala Percy Harvin (though obviously not quite of that caliber). Last edited by FleaFlicker; 02-13-2007 at 04:57 PM. | |

| Waterboy | Very good retort and I believe you are well informed. As for my stance on AA. I'm absolutely thrilled to have this guy on our side. He's an amazing talent with speed to burn and natural ability to boot. He will be a major player in the near future and I wholeheartedly agree with your assesment of his abilities. I do however feel you are somewhat off target in analyzing McDuffie. He has been clocked with sub 4.4 speed at a nike camp last year. Don't take my word for it, but I was just reading on another ND forum that quotes Bob Stoops as saying he was the fastest guy he's seen on film. Im not ready to put him in the Pro Bowl but I would hope that people give him a chance before delegating him to special teams demon in college. BTW, he's only a junior. Give him a year to grow into his body. |

| Is t3h pwns | McGuffie is is going to be good...for sure. To be honest, I'm interested what his star ranking will be. I'm not trying to be racist, so please don't take this the wrong way, but I have trouble envisioning a white 5* RB, yet he seems to have all the tools. Again, I'm not a racist or anything...just saying. |
