Here are the latest quotes attributed to Sam McGuffie from a ChicagoSports.com article posted today.

"During the season, I went off on people. I kind of expected it but I had to go out and do it. Athletically, you're probably not going to find someone my age who can go out and do what I can do, but I don't want to sound cocky."

"After I started putting on some extra weight and running some pretty hellacious forties and going to combines and dominating and doing my 40 and scaring people, I knew I could do this,"

"When we played Lamar, they called me Superman in the paper, so when they tackled me they would say 'What's up Superman? You're going to try to jump over me?' We ended up wining (29-7). I had 40 carries and killed them. After the game we're shaking hands and they were saying that I was the truth."

Wow, all I can say is it appears that the mouth of Sam McGuffie has now caught up with the legend. Not quite a Brady Quinn type personality is he? Somehow, I just can't see Sam on the same sideline with Charlie Weis.

Maybe just 1 more?
Having six zillion running backs doesn't seem to be worrying Pete Carroll. Why should it worry Charlie Weis?

dont know if anyone has seen this one. He has to have great vision to pull off some of the moves he does.
That video is as good if not better than Joe McKnights.

I think that CW would like the confidence, but might ask him to tone it down a little. I get your concern, but at least he isn't talking in the 3rd person (like the master):

"The football's like a one-man cold to Clifford Franklin. Clifford Franklin's the only man catchin' it, Clifford Franklin's the only man comin' down wid it."

Don't forget all of the criticism thrown Jimmy C's way over his announcement; Coach was cool with it......

McGuffie is cocky, not confident, there is a difference. I really do think he's going to get lit up someday and not know what to do with himself.

If ND stop recruiting 'cocky' High School players, their recruiting pool will be pretty shallow. I guy named Tom Brady played for Coach Weis, and was a pretty cocky sob himself. I think Coach can handle a HS senior. IMO
