It's kind of sad that Mustains name is still being thrown around about where is going. He needs to sew his vag up and get to work, he's missing valuable time this spring.

Crist reiterated that USC was one of his Top School choices, they always were on his list, but the USC offer did not change his plans. He still intends to visit ND from April 11-14, and he still plans on making his committment early, but not until right before the beginning of the new school year. Probably the most interesting comment of all was that he felt he would have a better idea of what he wants to do after he visits Notre Dame. That statement can mean anything from he is visiting ND to see if the staff can convince him that ND is the place for him, or he is visiting ND to see if there is anything about ND that would convince him that ND is not the place for him. Only Dayne Crist knows for sure what that means, but the fact that he is citing the ND visit as a focal point for his decision can only mean that there is a solid opportunity here for the Irish to recruit arguably the best West Coast QB prospect of the 2008 class.

Some rumblings around the rumor mill are that Crist wants to leave the West Coast. Which could be why he didn't jump on that USC offer yet.

But maybe he feels like going to Louisianna, who knows. But it does seem like he is very far from a "lock" for USC.

A buddy of mine who's close to the USC program is saying that NDHS people are telling everyone Crist is a Trojan.

BUT

My buddy doesn't really believe that, because if somebody's silently committed, he knows about it. The guy knew about Joe McKnight before anyone else, so take that FWIW.

If he is already a silent commit, I would be surprised if he actually shows up with McDonald on Wednesday. Either way he may be definitely leaning that way because the Poodle is now allegedly spinning a yarn that Corp (yes, he's the QB that all of the USC people were saying is actually better than JC) is not going to play QB now. If that part is true, it just shows that the Poodle will do anything to get a recruit (big surprise there, huh) because Corp is not physically suited to play any other position than QB. I think it's all a bunch of BS anyway for 2 reasons, Crist is too smart to fall for the Corp BS, and the NDHS Trojan crowd knows for sure that McDonald is going to commit to ND on Wednesday, so the Crist Trojan rumors may be to save a little face next week. I hate to jinx the McDonald thing but the USC recruiting board has taken him from a "High Priority" in January, to a "Priority" in March, to now just "evaluating". This is their typical way of saying that we were not really interested in the guy anyway, and is a sure fire indication that they expect McDonald to commit to another school.

I'm not saying that Crist will not end up at USC, he most likely will, but if he shows up with McDonald on Wednesday, then I think ND still has a shot at him. If he doesn't then you know the silent commit rumor is correct.

IUB

I thought the Poodle encouraged his recruits to take their visits even if committed to USC?
